1.3: Party of Six

Hello everyone and welcome back! Thanks for your patience in between updates! Let's get right down to it! For a quick recap, last chapter saw Frost and Dusty's first two boys, twins Cotton and Alabaster, grow into child age as well as the birth of their 3rd child, Oxford! Let's open up today with a sweet shot of Alabaster welcoming his new baby brother into the world!

Daddy couldn't wait to get his time in with little Oxford either! He's such a doting father, I love it.

Wasting no time, as my sims are known to do, Frosty got to work on baby #4! As I spoiled in the last chapter, this will be their last baby. Which actually made me super sad but I had to stop. I could make these guys have babies for days cause they all turn out super cute haha.

Woohoo! Toilet confetti means success!

Homework party in the street outside your house? Sure. Seems safe.

Dishes had begun to pile up around the house so Frost took some time to help clean up.

Awwww....brotherly love! I love autonomous acts of affection <3

The weekend had come around, so I sent the boys to the park for a bit to work on their aspirations. Cotton had to play 3 games of chess while Alabaster had to work on his motor skill.

Bahahaha. What. The hell. Is that outfit.

Despite the poor choice of random career clothing, both Frost and Dusty's careers are coming along nicely. These are just a few of the career rewards they've earned.

SURPRISE! Child aged Oxford! His birthday kind of snuck up on me. He was a SUPER quiet baby, there were lots of moments I kind of forgot he was there because he just never really cried! Anyway, he rolled the hot headed trait along with the artistic prodigy aspiration. And, as I mentioned in the last chapter, the coin flip resulted in him ending up with dad's hair color. So far Cotton has the heir thing on lock!

Frost: Um...babe.......I'm kind of naked here....and I'm...um...dropping the kids off at the pool...if you know what I mean....

Dusty: *Obliviously fixing the sink*

Well...gotta do what you've gotta do....I guess...

Don't let the sad expression fool you, he is not being forced to do this. He is not some overworked slave child. He cleans up 100% voluntarily.

Aha, I see Oxford's hot headed trait is in proper working order. Awesome. (Heavy sarcasm is heavy.)

Nothing like a little afternoon painting clad only in your underwear!

Al: Dad...can I ask you a question?

Frost: Of course, son, what's on your mind?

Al: Why are you, like, always in your underwear?

Frost: ....don't you have homework to do or something?

One of the best parts of having a sim in the cooking career is always having decent quality meals on hand. Tonight's meal of choice was grilled cheese, thanks in part to the little one in Dusty's tummy who had quite the craving!

That craving was apparently just what Dusty needed to jump start the labor! The fourth and final baby of our founding generation was ready to make its appearance!

Frost: You ready for this, babe?

Dusty: Well, I'm ready to get this baby out and meet them, yes. And I'm ready to be done feeling super uncomfortable 24/7. But I have to admit, I'm a little sad this is going to be our last little one. I love being mommy to our boys, and we sure do make some cute ones.

Frost: Yes we do.

And with that, he gave her a smooch on the cheek. All that's left now is to wait until baby #4 is ready to officially pop!

Dusty passed the time watching some TV and Frost checked in on the boys while they were doing their homework.

Al: Hey, dad! You know, you never really answered my question earlier, but I'm glad to see you finally decided to put some clothes on.

Frost: You know, that reminds me, I got a call from your teacher today. She mentioned something about a REALLY nice boarding school that a friend of hers in some city called Bridgeport told her about. Apparently it's a school that you live at for awhile, parents send their kids there to teach them valuable skills and get them out of their hair when they're being brats and questioning their parents fashion choices. She's putting an application in the mail for me, isn't that great?

Al: Oh, come on, dad. We both know you'd miss me too much, you'd never do that to me. Right? You'd never send me away to some boarding school, right dad? Dad?

Frost: Oh look! Mom's heading into the nursery, looks like the newest member of our family is on the way. Be sure you guys come in when you're done with your homework! See you guys in a bit!

Al: DAD?!

As predicted, it was time for the final baby of the founding generation to make its way into the world.

And baby #4 is.....ANOTHER boy! I was really hoping for a girl, but oh well. Welcome to the world, Linen Colour! This family of six is officially complete!

As anxious as ever, Frost was first in line to make some silly faces at his newest son! They may be done having babies, but Frost will always be that same doting father! Well....unless any of them continue to question his love for running around in his tighty whities, that is...

That is where we leave things for tonight! I hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday season so far! Tune in next time to see Linen age up and find out if Cotton has heirship in the bag or if the last born of this generation will give him a run for his money! Until then, happy simming!

1.2: Boys, Boys, Boys!

Welcome back, everyone! It's Tuesday so that means time for another In Colour update! We last left off with the first birth of our founding generation. Frost & Dusty welcomed twin boys Cotton & Alabaster into the world! Let's kick off this update with a little double duty parenting. Mom and dad have this stuff down to a science!

Frost: So, babe...I know we just had twins, like, 4 hours ago and all. But what do you say we get to work on baby number 3?

Dusty: Heck yes!

Woohoo was had and social/fun needs were filled. Multitasking? You're doing it RIGHT.

And the verdict is....GUILTY!!!

Um. I mean....EATING FOR TWO! Yay, baby #3 is on its way!

Of course, this being a founding generation and all, all of their appliances are cheap. Frost is constantly fixing things. Oh well. As I've played the game over the last year, I've come to enjoy the process of fixing/upgrading objects around the home. But I will say, I'm excited about the return of the repairman NPC in today's patch!

Once he was done playing Handy Manny, I sent Frost to his easel to keep working on paintings. Meanwhile, momma Dusty spent some time with the boys.

The TV busted but I chose to replace it as opposed to have Frost fix it. I don't take a chance with electronics until my sims are, like, maxed in handiness. Don't need anyone dying from electrocution on my watch.

Daddy made sure to get some baby time in. I have no idea which one he's snuggling. But cute anyway!

Finally it was time for the twins to age up. And it was at this time that I realized that child sims don't have access to all hair colors. I know this is probably old news for many of you, but I've never created a child sim in CAS so I just never paid attention. So. This puts a bit of a damper on my rainbowcy because my plan was to go by hair color (only children who inherited the next hair color would be eligible for heir, etc.) and pink is not a natural hair color for children.

I ended up downloading some recolored hairs by ashleighanne90 that you can find here. A couple of things to note, from what I understand so far only base game, Outdoor Retreat and Get to Work hairs are included. Also, these are just recolors/add extra color options to the hairs included in the packs listed above. They are supposed to be genetic - so far I haven't see it work, but that doesn't mean it doesn't. Bear in mind that there are 2 parents...sometimes genetics in the sims are one sided, so (spoiler alert) with Frost and Dusty having 4 kids, it's not out of the ordinary that the 2 they have after the twins both end up with one hair color over the other. And finally, white is not an option that is included in these recolors so any of the kids that get white hair actually get the really light platinum blonde. Oh well. It looks close enough.

Anywho, given that none of their kids end up with naturally pink hair, I chose to flip a coin for each child. If it landed on heads they got dad's white hair, if it landed on tails they got mom's pink hair. Any that end up with pink will be eligible to become the heir. Blah. Too much work for something as simple as genetics, TS4. But we've already begun and we are not turning back now! SO, without further ado, let me introduce you to the child age twins! First up, Cotton! Thanks to Create a Random Sim, he received the bookworm trait and the whiz kid aspiration.

Next up, Alabaster! He ended up with the perfectionist trait as well as the rambunctious scamp aspiration. Also....I promise, the lighting will get better eventually. I hate the cheap lighting. I just kind of hate the lighting in this game as a whole. Blah. Anyway, bear with me. It gets better, I promise.

These two quickly became inseparable. They're pretty darn cute if I do say so myself.

Part of Al's aspiration requires him to play on the playground while playful, so I sat him down in front of the comedy channel to boost his playful mood.

Lookie! Second trimester baby bump! She's such a cute preggo. Also, it seemed that after that whole "sims get a baby bump immediately when they find out they're pregnant" thing came around, all of my sims did, in fact, get a bump immediately. But not her! I kind of prefer that they don't...it's more "natural". But, then again, sims are only pregnant for 3 days so really, "natural" went out the window a long time ago lol. Oh well. I like that she's a lone wolf and doesn't pop immediately :)

Cotton is always helping clean up, which is awesome. Child of the year.

Frost was at work and needs needed to be tended to, so I had Dusty take care of the broken/dirty plumbing.

The boys came in later to supervise.

Until dad came home, that is. Autonomous dad/son hugs. CUTE <3

Third trimester in the bag, baby #3 will be here soon!

Oops. Sorry, buddy. The toilet was broken and I didn't realize it so Cotton had a little accident. Glad this isn't an ISBI save, that would have cost me some points.

Baby feelin' times! I just adore these two together.

Yikes. Someone had a rough day at school. He's filthy from his accident. He's sad because he got a love letter from a girl, but when he confronted her he found out she didn't actually write it/like him. OMG. Poor bb :'(

Sad eating. Ugh. Right through the heart.

Cotton: And when I told her I liked her too, she just looked at me like I was some sort of alien. Then after a few seconds of awkward silence, she said "Um...I didn't write that...I don't even know who you are." I was so embarrassed! It hurts, mom. I really liked her and all of my friends saw her shoot me down. What should I do? Mom? Mom?!

Dusty: ZzzzzzzZZZZZZzzzzzzzZZZZZZZ...

Cotton: *Sigh* Thanks, mom.

Thankfully dad was on hand to offer some comforting snuggles. Soon enough Cotton was feeling much better.

Frost: I'm sorry that happened to you, son. But think of this as an opportunity! Maybe you can take this is a chance to get to know that girl. And if it doesn't work out, I promise there is someone out there for you. Don't get discouraged, you are awesome!

Cotton: Thanks, dad!

<3333 :')

What's this?! Baby time?! In even worse lighting than normal?! How is that even possible?!

Oh. Right. By forgetting to pay the bill, that's how. Oops. Dusty took a quick moment to fix that problem while Frost continued to sleep peacefully.

Dusty made her way over to the bassinet to prepare for birth. Eventually I moved the bassinet into her and Frost's room to keep the boys from getting woken up in the middle of the night. Actually, none of my sims have ever been woken up by a crying baby. But I'm sure it's possible and did it anyway just in case.

And it's another boy! Everyone give a warm welcome to Oxford Colour!

Frost: OK, BABE, I'VE GOT THE BAGS READY, LET'S GET YOU TO THE HOSPITAL AND GET THIS BABY BORN!

Lawl. A little late there, hun.

And that's where I leave you for tonight! Tune in next time to see if they finally get a girl and find out whether or not Oxford will be eligible for heir! Until then, happy simming!
